Resident Tearfully Request City’s help after Dog is Hit by School Bus on Rudd School Road

Dog

By Cathy Leslie

Paula Shore , stood at last nights Pinson City Council meeting and tearfully requested the city’s help in controlling traffic speed on Rudd School Road .

Shore who lives on Rudd School road, told council and residents that on Monday her small English Springer Spaniel ran out of the house and into the street.  Since the dog is trained, Shore said that when she yelled the dog stopped and sat down in the middle of the road.

A school bus in route from Rudd Middle School with students on board continued traveling toward the dog.  Shore said she yelled for the bus to stop as she yelled for the dog, but the bus didn’t stop and ran over the spaniel.

Shore said she has watched in the past as buses as well as other vehicles ignore the 15mph speed limit on Rudd School Road .  She said this time was no different.
