Freezing Temps. cause problems in subdivision
1/9/2010

Friday nights freezing temperatures caused problems for homeowners in the Innsbrooke subdivision due to busted water pipes.  One Innsbrooke homeowners pipe burst at the watermain causing water to rush on to several streets and freeze in front of several driveways.
The rushing water was seen by Innsbrooke security who contacted the elderly homeowner. She did not know how to turn off the water and said she had contacted the water company but they had not arrived to checked out the leak.
The city's mayor was called and around 10pm Mayor Sanders arrived with sand. With the help of IHA Security, they sanded down the frozen road in front of other homes.  The two men were able to find the source of the leak and turn off the water.
Mayor Sanders said he was glad they had the sand that the city had purchased earlier in the week preparing for Thursday's freezing weather forecast but did not have to use it until now.
